Welcome to Regensburg! Germany, England, Serbia, Slowenia, China, Peru – Participants from all over the world are interested in sensor technology

Day1: Lectures and Hands-on-Workshop

"Sensors are everywhere!" Dr. Hubert Steigerwald explained the importance of this technology in automotive, mobiles, photography, medicine, saftey and how it works. He gave a short introduction to our regional Network for the Sensor Industry, the "idea behind", our strategy, tasks and activities.

His colleague Stefan Gottwald explained details on various sensor principles and fields of application for intelligent sensor systems, e.g. "Thermocouples are suitable for measuring over a large temperature range from -270 to 3000*C."

"An interesting event to promote a professional exchange with other people. I am glad to benefit from the participation at the Summerschool 2018.“ (Jonas)

Harald Schmid, CEO Gramm UG and expert for industrial design for additive manufacturing gave an interesting lecture. He also included some short videos about the latest developments in 3D printing before the participants had the opportunity to experience 3D printing themselves. In a hands-on workshop they got the chance to work with the software of the printer.

"Very easy to handle!" At least that's what Harald meant, when he introduced the participants to 3D printing.

„Fascinating how 3D print is applied in modern industries.“ (Sandra)
