Prof. Dr. Hans Meixner was born in 1939 in Marl / North Rhine-Westphalia. After studying chemistry, mathematics and physics in Hamburg, Luebeck and Munich, Germany he was a PhD student at the Physics Department at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. After his doctorate he worked as a research assistant at the Physics Department at the Technical University of Munich. In 1973 he joined the Siemens AG in Munich as an employee in the department central research and development. This was followed by the positions laboratory manager for application techniques and group representative. In 1992 he headed the core technologies sensor technology, measuring, control and regulation technology at Siemens AG. From 1996 until his retirement in the year 2004, Prof. Dr. Hans Meixner led the department of sensor and actuator technology at Siemens AG.
Since 2006, Prof. Dr. Hans Meixner is cluster spokesman for sensor technology and power electronics in the Bavarian/German state government.

Dr. Hubert Steigerwald was born in 1955 in Weissenburg / Bavaria. After studying electrical engineering in Erlangen, he earned his doctorate at the Institute for Electrical Energy Supply and developed a digital busbar differential protection in cooperation with Siemens PTD. Initially he worked as a developer and project manager before he founded and led a joint venture for the production and distribution of electrical switch gear for Siemens in Beijing, China. After his return to Munich, he led the worldwide sales of mobile communication systems. In Cologne / Bonn, Germany he was the managing director and general manager of a medium-sized enterprise that manufactured sensor and self-protection systems in high-frequency range. Since 2007 Dr. Steigerwald is CEO of Strategic Partnership for Sensor Technology e.V. and Sensorik-Bayern GmbH as well as network manager of the Bavarian Cluster for Sensor Technology.
